Malmaison Edinburgh

Nice location with the tram stop practically outside the front door. Attractive rooms, with the deluxe rooms being quite a bit larger, plus a sofa etc. But nothing wrong with the amenities in the standard room. Only real "complaint" was the gym really needs a refresh. Good thing there's a PureGym not far away

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Stay at Malmaison Edinburgh 20/11/2025 We had a wonderful stay at Malmaison Edinburgh. The hotel itself is beautiful, but what really made our visit special was the amazing hospitality from the front-of-house receptionist. We checked in around 5.45 pm, and she was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful from the moment we arrived. She went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable, and her warm attitude truly set the tone for our stay. A special thank you to her for making our experience so memorable — we really appreciate it.( forgot to catch her name ) Highly recommend this hotel for both comfort and outstanding customer service! we will definitely be back again. Lovely hotel and the staff are something else and so happy there and helpful. A couple of issues with our room but Kris sorted it for us in quick time. Billie on the eve shift for food was superb and loved a good chat. Also Hannah was superb in the morning breakfast room. Really nice to see staff so happy in their jobs these days.

After a recent stay during this Christmas I felt compelled to leave a review due to the excellent customer service I received. With Malmaison hotels you always know you're going to stay in a lovely room that's tastefully appointed in a great location within the city it's based. I want to particularly thank the reception team with their help with the following:- . Early Check-In - Upon arrival at 12:00 I asked to leave my luggage whilst visiting the city of Edinburgh. At reception they allowed an early check-in due to room type availability which was greatly appreciated. . Free Refreshments - On two occasions during my stay I was very kindly provided with free refreshments. I offered to forego room service due to only staying for two evenings which they provided a free drinks token at their bar. When sitting for breakfast on Christmas day, they very kindly offered a complimentary mimosa once dining, which was a lovely touch. . Luggage Safekeeping - Upon check-out I wished to visit HMY Britannia just a short walk away from the hotel. The reception staff very kindly arranged safekeeping of my belongings whilst I visited, despite checking-out at the time. In essence, no request is too taxing for the staff and they endeavour to help at all times with a real can-do attitude. Thank you for making my first stay in Scotland so enjoyable!

Ideally Located in Leith. Easy to get to by public transport or car. Room was brilliant, we had our dog with us. Which is an additional fee. Room had a dog bed, two bowls, treat box and a toy for the dog. So the fee didn't bother us. Room was clean and tidy. Chilled bottle of water in the fridge with tea and coffee as well.

We stayed at Malmaison hotel for one night. It exceeded our expectations. Room was very spacious and clean. Great service 24hours. The hotel is in perfect location next to the dock with beautiful views and excellent connections with the town centre. Definitely great value for money. Will go back there 100%.

We do enjoy benefits as Club Mal members. On this occasion we chose not to upgrade our room, so we were allocated a room at the rear of hotel. The room was very comfortable with no views to shout out about. We chose to have breakfast on one of our two mornings. The choice was comprehensive and the quality was very good. We did not have an evening meal on either of the two days we stayed as we had made alternative arrangements. The reception Team were very pleasant and helpful.

I’ve stayed at Malmaison in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Newcastle and now Leith, and each visit has been consistently good. The hotels are spacious and set in interesting historic buildings, which gives each one its own character. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive. Guests are made to feel welcome rather than simply checked in and out. We’ve received automatic upgrades without asking, which was a pleasant surprise. In one of the hotels, they even offer a drink at the bar if you choose not to have housekeeping during your stay. They also didn’t ask for our credit card details upfront for incidental expenses. If anything came up, it was charged at the time. That made us feel trusted rather than scrutinised. Breakfast is always very good, and the hot options are generous and well cooked. It shows that the care extends beyond the décor and into the everyday running of the hotel.
